My Journey

2015

When I was a kid, I hated sports. Like, literally every sport. I would avoid it at all costs - anything to not have to do it. 😂 But when I was around 14, I started going for the occasional run. Weirdly, I kind of enjoyed it. It wasn’t anything serious, just a jog here and there, but it felt good. Then, I added some home workouts to the mix. Still not super into it, but I liked how it made me feel.​​

 

Eventually, I signed up for a gym. Everyone seemed to be doing it, so why not? I had no idea what I was doing - I’d just walk in and do whatever came to mind. Definitely wasn’t the most effective, but I stuck with it. But over time, I started to get curious, educate myself - and I was hooked!

​I lost a bunch of fat, started focusing on my nutrition, and got super into counting calories and hitting my workouts hard. But here’s the thing: after all that effort, my body still wasn’t changing how I wanted it to. I thought if I ate less and worked out more, I’d magically get the body I wanted. And guess what - it didn’t work. 

It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I had this huge realization: all this time, I had been so focused on shrinking myself—eating less, doing more cardio, trying to be smaller—but that wasn’t getting me anywhere. My body wasn’t changing the way I wanted it to, and honestly, I felt stuck and frustrated.

 

I knew something had to change, but the idea of focusing on building and shaping my body instead of just trying to shrink it? Terrifying!  “What if I get bulky? What if I gain weight? What if I just fail altogether?”

 

But I decided to give it a shot anyway, and let me tell you - it completely changed everything for me.

Instead of dreading workouts or stressing over every calorie, I started to enjoy the process. I focused on getting stronger, not just skinnier. I started fueling my body to support my goals instead of punishing it with restrictions. And the best part? My body & mind started to change in ways I never thought it could. Besides the physical changes, I feel much happier, more confident, and finally in control of my fitness journey.

My path surely wasn’t perfect, but each step led me to where I am now, and it’s shaped me into the coach I am today. I wouldn’t change a thing.
